We Can't Read
For a class assignment to target a social issue, I found information about the prevalence of illiteracy in the United States that was surprising. Following the mission of the Barbara Bush Foundation, including their link on the deliverables, I hope to demonstrate the impact of illiteracy on the lives of everyday Americans and make a call for action to help.
Each poster in this series points to a single illiterate person and talks to how their lives could change for the better if they could just read. The emphasis is on adult literacy and how funding and support of the Barbara Bush Foundation's programs could help.
As we are focused on the reading public in this call for support, this two-page magazine spread combines our personal stories of illiterate Americans from a variety of backgrounds and situations.
