Bedford Living Magazine
In the summer of 2024 I worked with the local Bedford Gazette Associate Publisher, Sherri Growden, to give the publication a glow-up in a design refresh. I reimagined the visual layout to enhance readability, elevate storytelling, and bring cohesion to the publication’s brand. By refining the typographic system, and modernizing recurring sections, the redesign created a more engaging and accessible experience for readers. The updated look maintained the magazine’s local charm while aligning it with contemporary editorial design standards.

Following Sherri's editorial direction, I added a touch of contemporary publishing through the typeface selection, the color story, and the grid setup. These colors all align with local Bedford branding and keep true to the paper's historical roots.
I enjoyed the challenge of meeting publishing requirements for space while still giving each feature article its own voice. All ads and copy were provided and I made minor edits for readability and spacing.

The "Spotlight" special advertising spreads were a fun challenge to pack a punch for clients into two pages. I developed copy and designs for four of them while the others include my layout of submitted images and text.
