Juli's Wearable Art

When I moved back to Bedford in 2016, I got to reconnect with the small town I left 25 years before and part of that was growing my relationship with Juli, my with my dear friend since we were in kindergarten. Also in 2016, she was diving into a new retail adventure with the purchase of Juli's Wearable Art, and a sweet little shop in the midst of downtown featuring apparel, jewelry, accessories, and gifts.

Since then, she has continued to push and grow the boutique, even looking at the silver linings through COVID with an expanded brick-and-mortar footprint, upgraded e-commerce platforms, and new ways of viewing retail in a changed world.

2025 is the next year of growth and great things for JWA and graphic design is part of that plan! I've been working closely with Juli to create foundations of the brand story, internal working tools for the team, and creative marketing and advertisements for increasing customer engagement.

Brand & Team Boards

Part of re-energizing the team and the focus on retail success involved creating several "boards" to help tell the JWA story. Juli and I sat together  and worked through these to capture the right ideas and feelings behind each product.

  • The Mood Board was first. We tried to capture where we are and what we want the mood to be in the store, with a focus on the various products we serve, our team, and how we want our clientele to feel.

  • Next we worked on the Vision Board, with contributions from everyone on the team, to provide a foundation for moving forward.

  • Lastly was the Brand Board, which I put together using the colors, typography and logo that we already use on a daily basis. This helps solidify our palette and the vibe we are going for with marketing, signage, and merchandising, too.

Team Tools

We've worked together to create tools to help the whole team work better together, including a completely revised Employee Handbook and a "Doodle Session" format for our weekly team meetings. â€‹
