I'm pleased to announce that I was recently awarded a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) 2024 Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator (CEA) Program through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies who are the PCA's Pennsylvania Partner in the Arts for this region of the state.
The CEA is designed to pair access to small business consulting services (like Jeff at the Small Business Development Center or Gloria and Ben at the Southern Alleghenies Planning & Development Commission) with $2,000 grants for creative entrepreneurs like me!
I'm using the grant to to finance new technology in my studio that will help me grow my illustration and pattern design capabilities. Spending the money on new equipment was easy; now I have to dig in and keep learning how to best use the tools to make my designs SING!
Another iPad? Yes...this one will have a special surface treatment on the screen so I can get to drawing directly on it.
Frankie was very helpful in getting everything unboxed and plugged in. He is probably the best assistant a girl could ask for...if you like having someone chew your sketchbook and lay on the keyboard while typing.
But he's also very good at taking breaks and looking sexy.
Found space on the desk and we are getting CHARGED UP!
